Collaborative activities and technologies at different scales
– Overview –
Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) is one major theme of my research, which explores how people collaborate using technology in various contexts. I have investigated collaboration activities among different types of groups, from dyadic interaction, small teams to larger networks and communities, for diverse purposes, including social interactions and work-related tasks. Our studies have covered a broad range of topics, including gig work (e.g., Uber drivers), social interactions using instant messenger, knowledge transfer between two people, within an organization, or across stakeholder groups in society. Our research approach is rooted in the study of the interplay between technology and human behaviors. By understanding how technology affects collaboration among different types of groups, we aim to design and develop technologies that support more effective and efficient collaboration.
